Following the very damaging Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet scandals in previous years, the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC), as reported on in a previous WhereToBet.com telegram, recently appointed eCOGRA to test the compliance of its licensees.

More recently, it has now come to light that the KGC has taken a further step forward towards amping up its crediblity as a responsible licensing body by hiring a consultant to manage player complaints.

The position in question was awarded to Micki Oster. Micki is an industry veteran who made a name for herself as the general manager of the Sunny and Trident groups of online casinos.

Oster was well regarded for her sense of fair play, and she made many friends in the player community.

She will advise the KGC on improvements to player relationship activities, including timely and fair fair management of player complaints and disputes, with gaming operators licensed by the KGC. She will be directly involved with and responsible for mediating communications relative to player complaints between gaming operators and the KGC board.

According to Oster, “In terms of the KGC regulations, operators have 7 days to respond to an enquiry, after which a further three days on final warning are allowed. After that, the issue goes before the KGC board and drastic penalties can be levied in terms of licensing suspension and fines.”

Additional responsive contacts to handle player disputes is an important issue and will go a long way in establishing Kahnawake as a trusted licensing jurisdiction.

As a player advocate site, Wheretobet.com will be taking advantage of this offering by the KGC and will be directing Ms. Oster's attention to all player complaints relative to KGC licensed brands that we receive in the future.
